How we can help you

To ensure that a film production is actually completed and delivered on time and within budget, the film normally has to be financed using what is known as a “completion bond”. Film Finances has more than 60 years of experience in working with completion bonds.

We analyse and approve the project and then maintain regular contact with the production, checking all reports throughout the production period to ensure that the project is staying on schedule and within budget.

We also provide advice and support in the course of production until delivery.

The process

We analyse and approve the project at an early stage. We check through all documents that affect the project – script, financing agreement, joint production agreement, rights, budget and time schedule – in accordance with our checklist (please contact us for a copy). This approach provides the project financiers with confirmation that the budget and timetable for the production are realistic and achievable.

We then follow the production closely, checking the call sheet every day and following up on the progress report and cost reports weekly. We also maintain close contact with the people responsible for the production and make regular visits on set. All these measures are designed to reduce the risk of the production being hit by delays, overspend or other problems.

In the same way, we keep track of the post-production work up until final delivery. In the event that the production runs into difficulty at any point during the process, Film Finances Scandinavia is there to assist the producer and assure completion of the production.
